A snow guard is a rooftop device that allows snow and ice to drop off in small amounts or melt completely before falling to the ground. Where should they be placed on the roof? Our snow guards are designed to be used on any type of roof whether it is shingle, slate or metal.

LORR Roofing and Fabrication installs heat cables. This is not the solution if a new roof is required and ice and water products have not been installed. Under certain circumstances a heat cable in conjunction with new technologies will perform well. Roof leaks and structural damage can be the direct result of snow and ice build-up in gutters, along the roof’s edge, and on roof eaves. These ice dams create pressure on roofing material, lifting and damaging the seal. When the ice melts from rising heat or warming temperatures, the water has no path to the gutter or downspout – it is blocked by the icy buildup – and has nowhere to go but inside your house, where water damage can occur.
